Your photo, your font, your widgets. Your iPhone. With iOS 16, you have more ways than ever to personalize your Lock Screen. Brighten it up with a photo by adding a new layered effect. Track your Activity rings and see live updates from your favorite apps. App activity tracking is transparent, meaning you decide which apps can track your activity — and that’s just one example of how iPhone helps you stay fully in control of what you share and with whom. iPhone 14 can detect if you’ve been in a severe car crash, automatically call emergency services at 112, and notify your emergency contacts. How iPhone can detect, hear, and measure a crash. Sudden speed changes The new high-g-force accelerometer can detect extreme acceleration and deceleration forces of up to 256 g. Unexpected changes in direction A high dynamic range gyroscope continuously monitors sudden changes in the vehicle’s movement and orientation. Laboratory crash tests Advanced motion analysis algorithms were developed using front, rear, side-impact, and rollover crash tests. Changes in cabin pressure The barometer can detect pressure changes caused by airbag deployment. Loud impact sounds While driving, the microphone can recognize extremely loud sounds associated with crashes. To protect your privacy, audio processing happens directly on your iPhone. Real-world crash data Crash Detection was refined using publicly available data from real-world accidents to make it as accurate as possible. With the incredible contrast of OLED technology, whites are brilliant and blacks are truly black. Thanks to the high resolution and color accuracy, everything appears sharp and vibrant. True Tone adjusts the display to the light around you, helping reduce eye strain. Even more amazing photos. With the new main camera and improved image processing, you can take even more sensational photos in any lighting conditions — especially in low light. The new main camera features a larger sensor and a larger aperture that lets in 49% more light. When you tap the shutter button, the new Photonic Engine takes camera performance even further. It combines the best pixels from multiple exposures into a single image, doing so earlier in the imaging process than ever before. This method preserves much more data, making it possible to capture more vivid, true-to-life colors and beautifully detailed textures in lower light than ever. Switch to the Ultra Wide camera to shoot from unique perspectives and fit much more of the scene into the frame. When light is very low, the camera automatically switches to Night mode, making photos brighter and sharper. Smart HDR 4 can recognize up to four different people in a shot, and individually fine-tune the contrast, lighting, and even skin tones for each one. Portrait mode brings the main subject into focus by artistically blurring the background — and now even the foreground. Always steady. Whether you’re hiking on a rocky mountain trail or chasing your kids in the park while filming, Action mode smooths out the shakes in your handheld videos. Create Hollywood-worthy videos. Cinematic mode automatically shifts focus to the most important subject in each scene — just like professional filmmakers do. And now you can record in 4K resolution at the cinematic standard of 24 frames per second. Jaw-dropping selfies. With the new TrueDepth front camera featuring a larger aperture and autofocus, you can capture sharper and richer-colored group shots and selfies than ever before. Lightning fast and built to last. iPhone 14 features the same superfast chip as iPhone 13 Pro. The A15 Bionic chip with a 5-core GPU powers the latest features, and graphics-intensive games and AR apps run smoothly. We redesigned the internal layout for more efficient thermal performance, so you can play longer without interruption.
